Parents' Weekend

Parents' Weekend is this weekend. For those who are new, it is the open day where family can come and talk to the teachers and see how their children are going. Like the Parent-Teacher Night, only for the whole weekend.

I know many people here do not have the blood family - I am one of them now. But I was thinking. Family is more than the people whose genetics we are sharing; it is about those people who take a certain place in our hearts, who fill the role of family, even without the genetic connection. So I wanted to perhaps talk about that.

Who in your life do you consider family?

A lot of my friends are like family to me. But I admit I still really do want my Dad to come around, but I don't think that's going to happen anymore.

So family really is whoever you're close to and for me that's really most everyone here.
